Yahweh
How long can you hold your breath?
Take a big breath in and count-one, two, three. At forty we are getting dizzy. At sixty our lungs and head are hurting. Suddenly, we exhale and gulp new breaths of air. This little exercise reminds us that breathing is so natural and involuntary that we rarely give it a second thought. But if we stop breathing, or if we hold our breath, then we know how vital it is to life and how absolutely dependent we are upon it.
Donna Barton has reminded us in her wonderful little book, YAHWEH, just how dependent we are on God and how praising God is as natural as breathing. All it takes is a little focus with the name - YAHWEH.
Children will love
in these pages the delightful pictures of all God's creatures, great and small, and the mirrored images of themselves. But more importantly, with a little help from their parents, they can learn to breathe this book like a prayer to the One who made us all.
