Overview

This novel is set on the shattered continent of Africa in the near future.

Main Character

The main character, Lieutenant Colonel Jon Taylor, is a tired and jaded semi-alcoholic officer of the South African Army who is involved with UN peace enforcement in Africa as well as his daughter's involvement with the international space program.

Plot Development

His long friendship with the young but highly intelligent Lana develops into an intense romance, and he has to decide whether to continue as a soldier facing cruel violence or to come home for good. His decision leads to unexpected results.
