Jody Mitchell, with her brother Don and friend Elliot Treggor, have moved to a heavily-wooded area in the northeastern corner of Minnesota. Together they have ventured into purchasing and running the Pinewood Motel.
As each leaves a troubled past behind them and are looking forward to a new beginning, some new and unexpected challenges hit by way of a bartender named Nora and a seven-year old girl named Mad. Frenzy is soon back in their lives, proving that while The Way Forward is not always the smoothest road, its values run deep.
