The Middle Class

The middle class is the biggest and the most active part of American society (scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, teachers, health care workers, etc.). Economists and politicians are talking about the middle class. But what is the middle class?

These people pay the biggest part of federal, local, and other taxes. They live in a very dynamic and not very friendly environment. Crisis hurts them stronger than other social groups through unemployment, losing health care, shrinking retirement benefits, and so on.
