The variety of Phillips poetry covers prose in poetic form, Haiku, stories, fantasy and some humour. Each form was selected to enhance the subject of the poem. In some cases, the whole poem is a metaphor or a Koan. Some of his poetry covers nebulous concepts, such as humanity, the soul, spirituality, and the cosmos.
