Sefton

Sefton is one of the most diverse boroughs in England. It encompasses two former boroughs: the industrial seaport Bootle at one end and, at the other, the genteel seaside resort of Southport. In between are stretches of beautiful coastline, home to six Links golf courses including Birkdale, host of the Open Championship. The rural hinterland is the setting for grand country houses and for the tiny village of Sefton, which gives its name to the borough.
