My Healing Journey

In February 2007, I suffered a Stroke, which partially paralyzed the left side of my body. I lost the use of my left hand, which was my dominant hand. I never lost my love for writing poetry. Writing this book has been a healing process for me.

My healing and recuperation from this debilitating illness has been very lengthy and tedious. During that time, I did a great deal of reflecting on past experiences as well as on current events and social issues. Expressing myself through poetry has always been a catharsis.

Writing poetry allows me to gain and keep perspective. It is fulfilling for me to be able to share my thoughts and feelings with others through this art.
