During the busy hours of the day there is too much to do and too little time, but during the night there is nothing to do, nothing to fix, and nothing to break. The world is quiet, and if you've ever stood in the night, the true night, then you know how powerful silence is.

In the moment when you can hear your own heartbeat, you realize that the night is a creature too. Its heart hangs in the sky above you, reflecting pale moonlight onto the sand, and that makes you feel something powerful enough to write about.
