Journal of a Deserter is the story of a soldier returning from Afghanistan suffering from PTSD, not receiving enough help from the medical system or the government. He sets off on a voyage of self-healing into the bush of Western Quebec. One day, he loads his canoe and doesn't come into work, setting off on a journey that he hopes will change his life; overcoming addiction to medications and the symptoms of PTSD. He has to interpret what the reasons for his nightmares are in order to do this. His healing doesn’t begin until he meets a Godly man who gives him a Bible. It is his receiving Jesus and subsequent walk with Christ that saves him.
