Imprisoned Beauty

Introduction

This collection of poems are telling a story about the struggle to live up to society's expectations as a woman in the world.

Perspectives

From the point of view of a little girl to the point of view of a strong warrior.

Themes

Proof of the generational curses that were passed down, being forced into silence until they fight back. A woman's power is in her voice. Let a woman tell you her story.

Women’s Resilience

Even with all their labels, women stayed true to who they were instead of diving into line to fit into society.

Individuality and Freedom

Why try to blend in? When being different gives a sense of freedom no one can ever take away. Being different and not afraid to defend the injustice towards anyone and themselves.
