This is volume IV of VIII in the international library of sociology based on the sociology of the Soviet Union.

The author’s account of the life on the collective farm is based mainly on the diaries which he was able to bring with him out of the Soviet Union.

The diaries included statistical reports of collective farm operations, but for some of the facts and figures the author has had to rely on his memory.
