Green-Wing Chronicles

High above an ancient cemetery, hidden among towering trees and weathered stone, stands the Great Nest—a remarkable city built branch by branch over generations by a colony of wild monk parakeets. Within its woven walls, every bird has a purpose. Builders strengthen the nest that shelters the flock. Foragers know every hidden path, every winter food source, and every secret of the forest below. Elders preserve the stories of the founders, whose courage transformed an unfamiliar place into home.

Ash has always dreamed of becoming a master builder. Juniper is training to become one of the Hollow's finest foragers. Their paths were never meant to cross, until both begin uncovering small mysteries that no one can explain.

Branches appear where no builder remembers placing them. Hidden food stores are carefully arranged by unseen wings. Forgotten corners of the Hollow bear signs of quiet care from someone who leaves no tracks, takes nothing, and is never seen.

As strange clues begin to connect, Ash and Juniper discover that the greatest mysteries are not hidden in distant lands—they are woven into the very place they call home. Together, they must learn to see the Hollow through new eyes before a long-forgotten danger returns and tests everything their community has built.

Rich with adventure, friendship, and the wonder of the natural world, The Hollow is an unforgettable fantasy inspired by the extraordinary resilience of real monk parakeets. Perfect for readers who love immersive animal adventures such as Warriors, Wings of Fire, and Guardians of Ga'Hoole, this is the first book in an epic series about courage, community, and discovering that home is not simply where you come from—but what you build together.
