This 1898 biography of the "Poet of Childhood," famous for such verses as "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod," was written by Field's sister-in-law.

A contemporary review in Publishers Weekly called the book a "charming picture of Eugene Field in his home life" and praised the "many delightful anecdotes illustrating the writer's love of fun."
