Don't Be a Club Short!

The new Rules of Golf 2019

As a serious golfer, you are already aware of the major changes, which have been widely and rightly-heralded for simplifying certain aspects of play. You will soon discover, however, that this snapshot of major changes isn't even close to the whole picture, as the Rules revisit play, penalties, and relief on a broad canvas, starting with the basics ... numerous changes in the very language of golf.

As a player, you probably enjoy competition on some level. Accordingly, you need to learn not only how to play under the Rules, but how to protect your own rights and interests. This, by the way, is a Rule and not just a suggestion. So how does one learn the Rules?

The most obvious method is the textbook method. Pick up the marvelous texts and read them from cover to cover leaving yourself ample time for study and reflection of the inter-relationships, nuances, and exceptions therein.

Another learning method is through play...your play...stroke by stroke, hole by hole. This method is the inspiration of this book...a four-ball match play competition...the same rules scenarios you face every day in your competitions and on your course. So put down the textbook, step out of the library, and learn the new Rules the old fashioned way...in a round of golf!
