Courage Underground

Examining the relationship between consciousness and body

This collection of poetry penetrates hidden emotions contained by vital organs, offering new perspectives on loss and alienation that are both hilarious and startling. Through her powerful images, including those of organ transplant, lower-order creatures, and characters of the mythic underworld, Roorda boldly examines the root of courage, revealing the haunting truth behind this mysterious force.
