Complete NLP Guide: Beginner to Master Practitioner
The NLP Series, #4
Most people have been using NLP their entire lives. They just did not know what to call it.
The NLP Series by S Y Kelake is a complete, three-volume journey through Neuro-Linguistic Programming — from first principles to advanced transformational practice — written by someone who did not come to NLP through a book. He came to it through a window company.
In 2005, working as part of the executive team at Everest Home Improvements Ltd in Hertfordshire, S Y Kelake attended a Business NLP programme run by clinical psychologist Kathryn Temple. What he discovered was not new information. It was the structure beneath things he had been doing instinctively for years — in telesales at fourteen, in sales maximisation roles, in management. The programme gave him a language for what he had already learned to do. This series is the book he wished had existed then.
The NLP Series comprises three volumes, each complete in its own right:
BOOK ONE — NLP FOUNDATIONS: Understanding and Rewiring Your Mind
introduces the landscape: the twelve presuppositions of NLP, representational systems, rapport, anchoring, state management, goals and well-formed outcomes, reframing, beliefs and values, and a 30-day practice framework. The personal material throughout includes the story of Martin Revell — an assistant manager whose behaviour the author had misread for months, and whose transformation taught him as much about himself as it did about NLP.
BOOK TWO — NLP PRACTITIONER: The Core Techniques of Change
moves into the technical core: the Meta Model and Milton Model, submodalities, metaprograms, perceptual positions, strategies, Sleight of Mouth, Logical Levels, Change Personal History, and self-coaching with NLP. Case studies include a pay negotiation that moved from stalemate to resolution in a single conversation, a belief installed by a teacher in front of a child — and the quiet, patient work of dismantling it — and the application of state management tools during a period of cancer treatment, where the stakes were as high as they get.
BOOK THREE — NLP MASTER PRACTITIONER: Advanced Models and Transformational Practice
covers the deep end: Timeline Therapy, Parts Integration, the Fast Phobia Cure, deep trance phenomena, advanced submodalities, advanced modelling methodology, NLP and identity, and the full range of clinical, coaching, leadership, and education applications. It closes with an honest account of what the evidence base actually supports, and a thorough treatment of professional ethics — including the question of when not to intervene.
The Complete NLP Guide
combines all three volumes into a single definitive edition, with an exclusive new preface, a Master Glossary of all NLP terms across the series, and a consolidated bibliography and index.
These are not books about acquiring skills you do not have. They are books about recognising skills you already use — and bringing more clarity, focus, and intention to what you do with them.
The work is never finished. That is not a problem. That is the point!
