Canterbury Papers
A Novel
Book Description
A French royal embarks on a dangerous mission to England in this medieval thriller series debut: an "electrifying journey into the past" (Booklist).
France, 1200. Princess Alaïs, the unmarried sister of the King of France, has little involvement in the affairs at her brother's court—until her old friend Eleanor of Aquitaine comes to her for a favor. The former Queen of England needs Alaïs to retrieve hidden letters that, in the wrong hands, could bring down the English king. In exchange, Alaïs is promised information on the whereabouts of her long-lost illegitimate son.
As Alaïs ventures to Canterbury to execute her mission, she becomes embroiled in a dangerous international plot—and abducted by mysterious agents. To survive, she must form an alliance with the intriguing leader of the Knights Templar, and unravel a tangled web of family secrets and lies.
