Atheist's Guide to Ethics

Raised to believe that the deeper questions of life could be answered with one word-God

Cody Spring was 18 when he realized he was an atheist. Over the next ten years he tumbled through the rabbit hole of philosophy, and a few existential crises later has managed to answer only one of those questions. In An Atheist's Guide to Ethics, he explains how he solved the problem of ethics without religion.

Beliefs about ethics and religion

Many people subscribe to the belief that as long as they make their decisions based on the tenets of the religion into which they're born, there will be no problems. But for those who don't have their ethics passed down from a higher power, it can be difficult to know how they should conduct themselves, mostly relying on intuition when making ethical decisions.

Ethics without religion

An Atheist's Guide to Ethics derives its ethics from reason itself, and without the need for a supernatural being.
