includes articles originally published in 1978, written in French and English on educational, literary, cultural, historical and socio-linguistic aspects of language in Africa, as well as descriptive and comparative studies. Among others there are chapters on lexical innovation in Zambian languages, Portuguese creole of Sénégal, the application of ethics in Hausa didactic poetry.
