Emily Bronte

Emily Bronte was an English novelist & poet, who is best known for her only novel, Wuthering Heights. She has written poems also such as - 'Poems by Currer, Ellis and Action Bell', 'A Death Scene', 'To a Wreath of Snow, and lots Many.' Wuthering Heights is a highly imaginative work of passion and hate. The author was interested in mysticism and used to enjoy her solitude outdoors. This novel consists of those elements. It is now considered a classic of English literature. It was published under the pseudonym - Ellis Bell.

The story is full of high creativity and very imaginative. It narrates revenge also. It revolves around the main character, Heathcliff. Wuthering Heights is his farmhouse. Heathcliff is a young orphan, who was brought by Earnshaw at Wuthering Heights, 30 years ago. Earnshaw loves him (Heathcliff) so much, even neglects his own children. After the death of Earnshaw, his elder son Hindley becomes the new master of Wuthering Heights and he allows Heathcliff to stay there only as a servant. Catherine is in love with Heathcliff, but doesn't show due to her social status. The story thus seems very interesting and it ends with sights of the ghosts of Catherine and Heathcliff.

It consists of many ups and downs. Readers will surely enjoy the novel. It's heartthrobbing and it's very difficult to get up without reading the novel fully.

The Prince

Niccolò Machiavelli, the author, was an Italian. (Born 3rd May 1469, died 21st June, 1527). He was a diplomat, philosopher, historian, politician, and writer. He is best known for his book The Prince. His notable works are The Prince and Discourses on Livy. The Prince is basically a political treatise and a sort of guide for new princes and royals. It was published five years after Niccolò's death.

When he was alive, there was some controversy in his book. It was published only after seeking permission from the Medici Pope Clement VII. The Prince is one of the best works of modern political philosophy, in which truth is highlighted rather than any abstract ideas or incidents. The beauty of the text is that it has a recognizable structure and the author has indicated himself in most of the portions.

The book narrates mostly about princedoms, especially hereditary princedoms. It's easier to rule. It also avoids comparison between monarchy and tyranny. The character of the story, Cyrus the Great, is totally different from those who have got their thrones without any efforts (as successors) and those who have acquired crowns after putting in their hard labor and efforts. Machiavelli cites Roman ways to the new princes and discusses kingdoms where entry is easy but holding the kingdom is difficult. For example, he mentions France.

He writes that reforming an existing order is one of the most dangerous and difficult tasks for a prince because subjects are often resistant to change. It is also very difficult for a prince to satisfy everyone's expectations. When a prince comes to power due to destiny, it can be hard to hold onto it for a long time. Even if a prince is overly generous, it may not be appreciated and could lead to greed for more. Different types of kingdoms and princedoms require different styles of control. The author has put his best efforts into narrating all such types of realms. The work is commendable and very beneficial to rulers—a must-read for self-development and learning how to be a good leader.
