About the Author

The author of this book, Mrs. Debbie Boone Allen, relates that she was inspired by her maternal grandmother, Big Mom, and her love of cats to write this book.

According to Mrs. Allen, she, like her grandmother, had a love of cats. She recalled that when she was first living on her own, she was very lonely. This was until she invited a little kitten to come live with her.

She recalls, when my kitten wanted to play he would and when he wanted to be alone he was. The cat and I were a lot alike. It made terrific sense to Mrs. Allen to combine her love of her grandmother and the love they shared for cats in the storyline of Winker and the Kitten.
