Introduction

Six years ago, I wrote my dissertation on who the Holy Spirit is in order to obtain my doctorate degree. I chose a topic that not one faculty member at Bethel Christian College had written on. The reason why I chose this topic is that one day, one of my children asked me a question about who the Holy Spirit is, and that is how this came to birth. I wondered, since my children asked me so many questions about the Holy Spirit, how many other Christians had the same questions but were afraid to ask. What I learned from researching on this topic was that very little was written on this subject. So after completing my dissertation, I wanted to share what I learned and discovered with others. The more I put it off, the more restless I became. It has taken me nine years to complete this task.

Questions Addressed in the Book

There are four questions I will be addressing in the book:

• Who the Holy Spirit is
• The Holy Spirit and spiritual growth
• The Holy Spirit and the nine fruit of the Spirit
• The silent active roles the Holy Spirit had in the Old Testament
