Detective Ivan Williams and his partner Detective Avery Montgomery came into the office just like any other day. They went through roll call and returned to their desk to find a file. Detective Ivan looked at it with a blank look on his face. It had a sticky note that said "this is going to be a great ride are you and Detective Avery Montgomery ready". Not knowing what to think, they both opened the case file to find a picture of a young woman—no name, just a letter that said "can you find me before I'm dead". The letter continued.
The Case
This case started June 4th, 1962. Her name was Sherri Burkely. She was the town's cum rag. She threw herself at everyone's man, and I watched her for days. Day by day, she would wake up every morning at seven a.m., take her shower, slowly put on her clothes, and spray on her body.
The Narrator's Perspective
I was sixteen at the time, learning about life, when my mom came in and said that my Dad would never be coming home again. He had left us for Ms. Burkely. The rage that grew inside of me made me scared of my thoughts. I sat back and watched them together for weeks. When my Dad left for work one morning, I could not hold in my rage any longer.
