Solomon Northup's Story

Solomon Northup tells the story of his life, the thrilling story of a free colored man, kidnapped in Washington in 1841, sold into slavery, and, after a twelve years' bondage, reclaimed by State Authority from a cotton plantation in Louisiana.

The narrative of Mr. Northup's strange misfortunes, resulting in a twelve years' servitude, is of thrilling interest, not only with regard to the upcoming movie.

The description of scenes and sufferings may well entitle it to be called a key and companion book to Mrs. Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin."
