I recommend this very readable, entertaining presentation of the Christian faith by Elmer Mulhausen. I like the way poems are used to present biblical truth in a simple, direct and balanced way. I like the fact that the book isn't long and laborious. The book has something for everyone along the theological spectrum from scholars to newcomers, from conservative to liberals and especially that broad majority in between.

This book is a valuable resource for all lay Christians, especially still maturing believers and those contemplating becoming a believer. The Bible is a large and complex text of history, teachings and truths.
