Introduction

Fresh out of high school, Benjamin Levi Jacob has immersed himself in constant hip-hop music and street slang, leading him to rebel and disrespect his long-suffering mother, Joann. Even more worrying, though, is his cold indifference to the concerns or feeling of others around him. Living in the hood doesn't improve matters. Ben hangs with a tough crowd, and one of his friends, Tony, is as rough as they come.

The Incident

While out looking for a job one day, Ben decides to cruise around with Tony for a while. But Tony is wanted for murder, and the cops catch up to him while Ben and Tony are joyriding. Even though Ben is innocent, he's arrested as an accomplice and eventually sent to prison.

Transformation and Redemption

Ben tries to adjust to prison life but hasn't changed his thinking. When a Christian minister begins to witness to him, something changes in Ben and puts him on a path toward deliverance. But it also shakes the modern world into a renewed conscious of the true power and awesome nature of almighty God.
