Story of a Caregiver

She was having the time of her life shopping in New York. Little did she know that only three weeks later, she would be unable to move her legs, dress herself, or provide even minimal activities of daily living. This was the fate of the strong woman who provided care for me all of my life. With little notice, I found myself responsible for her care. I was suddenly a caregiver, privileged to watch and participate as she transitioned from independence to dependence, as she trusted in God through good times and bad, and as she triumphed through it all.
