Change and the Human Condition

Its always about change, and the futility of depending on people and circumstances not to change. We take cold comfort in relying on maxims which insist that change can be controlled: over time, everything is supposed to get easier, it doesnt; small words are the easiest to understand, they never are; and hard work always pays off in the end, rarely.
