Story Overview

A sweet farm girl leaves abusive parents and then an abusive husband to set herself on a road to success of becoming a jockey.

Along the way, she encounters a couple that accept her and her daughter as family, and grows to love a man that must face and stand up to his father.

Because of her patience and unique communication with horses, she calms a temperamental colt and gains his confidence to win the English Grand National aboard him and learns how to pace a special filly enroute to a winning ride in the Kentucky Derby.
