Introduction

I never thought about human's talent prior to having the opportunity to read about my granddaughter's introduction to orthopedic surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.

My Inspiration

I knew I wanted to be a physician since fifth grade, Dr. Lily Bogunovic. The rest is described in toto in my book.

On Talent

Word talent has been used in human's conversation for centuries without any deep meaning as humans' talent deserves as an essential part of humans' life, as well as for every human's life direction and life purpose to be realized in a period depending on the power of the given talent, like the electrical power that we are not able to see but only observe its fruits-result.

What talent is no one can confirm with certainty because no one has ever seen talent. It is like electrical power; we see only its light, which is the result of that invisible power. There are many different beliefs about what talent is, and I do not argue because I respect everybody's opinion and belief, with the assumption that talent is everybody's personal property, as I call it—a gift given freely but with responsibilities that are costly.

Talent as a Power of Love

Talent is, as I intend to present, a power of love that resides in the heart and must be born mainly in a loving and caring family, where the mother has essential importance along with the father's support. Born into a family and later educated in the best way for the future of that gift, talent is dressed in education to be indoctrinated into society by providing an adequate place for its activities.

Limited Nature of Talent

We must accept that talent is like Duracell batteries with limited lasting power that must be utilized within a given time. I personally worked 50 years as a medical doctor to finish when I felt that there was no more power in my battery—my talent—and that I am now alone in this world, ready to retire.

Sharing Experience

My goal is to share my experience with my children, who are born with different talents, to help them become and enter our society ready for their life duties according to their given talents.
