In Sydney Learns How to Swim, Sydney is playing catch by a lake with her Dad when she gets hot. To cool off, she takes one of her favorite toys, Ducky, into the water. Ducky floats out into water that is over Sydney's head. Afraid to swim out to retrieve Ducky, Sydney loses him forever. Sydney wants to learn how to swim; but for her to succeed, she must conquer her fear of deep water. To help her, Dad buys Sydney a life preserver jacket and starts teaching her how to swim. Through the pictures, readers get to watch as Sydney conquers her fear of deep water and learns to swim.
