About the Book

Even before the outbreak of the Second World War Colonel Lyle S. Powell had practiced as a surgeon all over the globe, Tibet, India, Afghanistan, and in the remote regions of China.

In this book he recounts his adventures with the Chinese Army who had fought against the invading Japanese army for many years. Poorly equipped but brave, the Chinese side of the war is an often forgotten about but the author records the battles he saw and the casualties that he treated fighting side by side with them.
