Author Information

Alfred Owen Williams (1877 – 1930), also known as “The Hammerman Poet”, was an English author, poet, and a collector of folk song lyrics. He taught himself to write and produced his masterpiece, “Life in a Railway Factory” (1915), in his spare time in between working in the Great Western Railway works in Swindon.
