For as long as he could remember

she always wanted him to wear his socks. He didn't really like socks. They crunched his toes. They were baggy, and they twisted around his little ankles.

As he grew, she always makes sure he had the perfect warm socks for his feet.

He never quite understood why she wanted him to always have socks on his feet...until the day came when he had to put warm socks on hers.
