Honore De Balzac may only have lived for 51 years but his work lives on through such vital classics as his novella A Second Home (Une Double Famille). Set in 1815, an impoverished mother and daughter slave away as embroiderers barely making ends meet. A part of his famous series La Comedie Humaine (The Human Comedy) which parodies and depicts French life in the period of the Restoration and the July Monarchy between 1815 and 1848, De Balzac keeps to an astonishing standard.
