Only thirty-five percent of these dogs are adopted out; thirty-one percent are euthanized. There are a vast number of rescue organizations in the United States, and the volunteers working with them number in the thousands. This collection of stories covers her experiences with GRIN, a golden retriever rescue in northern Ohio, and later when she started her own organization, Golden Rescue in Naples Inc., in Florida.
