Synopsis

When a body of a teenage girl is pulled from the icy waters of a local reservoir, Detective Shari Ansari and her partner must work to unravel the mystery surrounding the death. With no injuries or signs of struggle, is this the final act of a troubled young woman, or does something more sinister lie behind it?

Ansari suspects murder and soon has a list of possible suspects, all of whom have their own dark history with the victim. But which one is responsible?

Watching her every move is Detective Sergeant Steve Ryder - an investigator with a reputation for brilliance. Ansari must prove herself to this enigmatic yet egotistical man, before the killer can get away.

This fast-paced short story is the second in the series about Ansari and Ryder, and provides another realistic glimpse into the life of detectives in one of Britain’s busiest police forces.
