Methodological Options in Management Research

One important methodological option in conducting management research is the use of qualitative methods for data collection and analysis.

Qualitative research, with its emphasis on understanding complex, interrelated and/or changing phenomena, is particularly relevant to the challenges of conducting management research.

Qualitative research methods are valuable in providing rich descriptions of complex phenomena; tracking unique or unexpected events, illuminating the experience and interpretation of events by actors with widely differing stakes and roles; giving voice to those whose views are rarely heard; conducting initial explorations to develop theories; and to generate and test hypotheses; and moving toward explanations.

This work would be useful for teachers, students and others who have much respect for Research Methodology and Management.
