Story Overview

Two women, married to irresponsible men, one walked out of her marriage by getting a divorce and the other left through death. Later, when their children had grown, the daughters of the divorcee were rejected and condemned by the community because they were raised from a broken home. No one allowed their son to marry them.

Redemption and Salvation

Out of despair, the divorcee sought Jesus, and he took away her shame and condemnation. Jesus brought salvation not only for her daughters but also for the community.

Consequences of Pride

The widower, out of pride and foolishness, led her son to his premature death and brought bad luck to her only daughter.

Transformation and Hope

God changed Mary's name from the reproached to redeem. God still hates divorce, but he will never allow anyone to give her life to premature death.
