About the Peony Poetry Society

Founded in 2004 by cultural volunteers Liu Huiru, Yu Liqing, and Xu Minzi in the East Bay of San Francisco, USA, the Peony Poetry Society is a non-profit organization.

It hosts a Peony Poetry Gathering every April and May, providing a platform for poetry enthusiasts in the Bay Area to交流 and share their work.

As the only similar cultural activity in the region to date, the society has held seven poetry gatherings, with a total of 85 poets submitting 189 works.

Past themes have included peony, spring, hope, human emotions, memories, and past events, inspiring passionate poetry among participants.

Today, the poetry gathering has become an integral part of Bay Area cultural life and is warmly welcomed by the community.
