Putin's Prisoner is a harrowing account by Aiden Aslin, who joined the Ukrainian marines in 2018 to defend his homeland. In February 2022, during Russia's full-scale offensive, Aiden was stationed at the frontline in Mariupol.

After a month-long siege at a Mariupol steelworks, with supplies exhausted, Aiden was part of the mass surrender of over a thousand Ukrainian troops in April 2022. His ordeal was only beginning.

He was singled out for his British passport, interrogated, tortured, stabbed, turned into a propaganda tool, tried by a kangaroo court, and sentenced to death. Despite these abuses, Aiden clung to hope. He was eventually freed in a prisoner exchange and allowed to return home.

In Putin's Prisoner, Aiden shares the full, harrowing story of his time fighting in Putin's war, his six months in Russian captivity, and his unwavering resolve to defend Ukraine's freedoms.
