Introduction

The economic times of the 1990s caused Mary, the main character, to embark on her own journey upon the suggestion of a so-called spiritual friend.

Journey and Encounter

Mary finds herself in a dark foreboding home in South Carolina where she is greeted by a woman who is quite unusual and is also greeted by a man named Ben who rescues her.

Themes and Messages

She is not only exposed to belief systems but also she exposes charlatans in a whimsical fashion. She reminds all of us how we are tested at some point in our lives and how our fears cause pathways never to be crossed.
