Poet Jobie Sprout believes her humorous side came from listening to her parents and grandparents telling stories long into the night. Despite her great joy in life, though, there is darkness. Her poetic storytelling comes from a metaphorical deep blue sea where, at times, Jobie imagines herself safely sheltered from humanity's cruelty.
