About the Book

The plot was well-known to have been based on Wells' affair with Amber Reeves and a satire of Beatrice and Sidney Web; and, as such, was constituted a veritable literary scandal at the time. An interesting and entertaining story of life and loves, "The New Machiavelli" will not disappoint fans of Wells' work and deserves a place on every bookshelf.
