Mushroom growing is a fascinating hobby and many gardeners take it up seriously, as others do orchid growing, solely because of its absorbing interest.

There is a general impression that is difficult but that is hardly true; it would be more apt to say that it is different in the sense that few, if any, of the ordinary rules of gardening apply to the cultivation of mushrooms.
