Introduction

The present book is an outcome of a training programme on Modeling in Resource Management and Environment through Geomatics. This project was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi. This book consists of selectd lectures deliver ed by the eminent scientists during this training programme. These lectures cover various aspects of modeling in resour ce management and environment through remote sensing. Geomatics is an important tool for resource analysis and management of environment. It is hoped that this book will be emmensely useful to the students, teachers, resear ch scholars, geographers and scientists of cognete discipline who are using remote sensing and geomatics techniques in their research.
