The aim of this book is to give to students and practicing engineers who have not studied dynamics and who are interested in mechanical vibrations a sound introduction to this important field of engineering science.

Scope and Limitations

It must be emphasized that it is not the purpose of this book to give a complete treatment of this subject which would require an extensive application of higher mathematics.
