Mathematical Concepts in Education

More mathematical concepts are addressed at younger ages as a result of Common Core State Standards. In the 6th grade, students do much more in depth work with geometry, ratio and percentage as well as statistics and probability.

Progression and Depth of Learning

This is not the first time these concepts are addressed though. The Common Core approach requires going deeper into content learned in earlier years.

Supporting Parents and Guardians

Because of this need to look at each grade, instead of just one year, a reference guide for parents and guardians would provide a much better snapshot showing the big picture mathematical goal for each student.
