Introduction

Mr. Avarice lives in a magical world where everything he needs grows on trees and there is no need for money. Everyone in the village is only allowed to take what one needs and nothing more or else the trees will die.

The Conflict

Mr. Avarice, however, feels lonely and decides that having more stuff will make him happy. His quest to fill the hole in his heart endangers the entire village and makes many people unhappy and scared, especially one little girl—Sophie Petit.

The Resolution

Ironically, it is Sophie Petit who teaches Mr. Avarice how he can find the happiness he has been looking for in the end.
