Summary

David, a young soldier home on the first day of his first furlough and planning to marry his love Nell, was accused of murdering her sister. He was tried and convicted on the evidence that pointed only to him by the cleverness of another. He was to spend twenty years in prison before his strong faith and a quirk of remembering a strange secret by his once bride-to-be led him to be a free man.
